Queens of Combat: Stone Cold Queens Results

Queens of Combat returned to Hebron Hall in Charlotte for the event called Stone Cold Queens because of it taking place on 3/16. Two shows took place with plenty of dedication to the “Texas Rattlesnake” being shown by all the performers in their matches. Also, a surprise title defense took place on the opening show, and the reigning Queens of Combat Champion put her belt on the line on the last show. Plus, a new challenger for the Queens of Combat title emerged in a 6-pack challenge, the “Force” proved to be very strong for the Last Jedi of wrestling and Galaxy’s Greatest Alien, and a couple of debuting talents at QOC made their marks that highlighted a big day for the promotion. All in all, two tremendous shows were put on by all the amazing performers that took part in the matches.

This was the first time since WrestleCade that I’ve made a wrestling event of any kind. As those that follow me know, I don’t get to attend as many now as before, but am still very supportive of all things Indy wrestling. Nonetheless, I’m fortunate that I have a rare local work project going on close to me for the remainder of the month that allowed me to make these two shows.

Anyway, onto the results and highlights of both shows along with some notes and happenings away from the ring….

Show 1 results:

Before the first match, Zane Riley got on the mic. During the promo, he made reference to Willow Knightingale and her recent injury in which she had to have surgery to repair a broken neck. I hope Willow has a full recovery from the injury and we all wish her well on it!

Faye Jackson defeated Rocky Radley

One half of the Queens of Combat Tag Team champions faced off against Radley, who was making her debut in the promotion. Jackson had control of the bout early on until Radley asked her, “Do you believe in magic?” From there, Radley hit a Stunner(the first of many we would see on that night) on the outside of the ring. Jackson later countered a sunset flip into a Stunner before hitting a perfect plex. The end result came when Jackson hit Radley with a Michinoku Driver for the win. A good debut for Radley and opening match win for Jackson.

Clara Sinclare defeated Lynzee Pike

In the early going of the match, both ladies exchanged monkey flips out of the corner. Later, Lynzee used a Thesz Press followed by punches just like the Stone Cold used to do after she said to never trust a snake. She hit a Stunner on Sinclare, but was met with a superkick after that. The Last Jedi of wrestling then finished the match off with a form of a chokeslam for the win.

Brittany Blake defeated Harlow O’Hara

This was a hard-hitting match between these two. You expect that from Harlow in all her matches and it was no different here. The move that stood out to me was Blake hitting a Twist of Fate on Harlow on the ring apron from the outside of the ring. Blake was able to win with a variation of a Tequila Sunrise move that Konnan used to use when in WCW.

Sea Stars defeated Veda Scott & Trish Adora

The Sea Stars never disappoint and always put on good matches. Veda was excited to have Adora as her partner, and they were a very formidable opponent here. Though it was Adora’s debut, she was most impressive and will be a major player in the business. At one point in the match, the Sea Stars hit a Russian leg sweep and top rope dropkick combo. But Scott and Adora took over from there after Veda launched Ashley off the top rope before hitting a flying body-press. Then Veda hit a Stunner after a clothesline on Delmi. Adora then hit a Brogue-type kick on Delmi that nearly won the match in her debut. But it was the Sea Stars that hit their Flopping Fish(Senton bomb off the top rope) for the win. Solid tag team match and work by all here.

Savannah Evans & Zane Riley defeated Diamante & Hudson Envy

Before the match started, Savannah and Zane called out the QOC champion and challenged her to find a tag team partner. Diamante answered and chose Hudson Envy as her partner. Savannah and Zane then tricked the two thinking they were unveiling a new partner, only to jump them from behind as the match got underway. This back and forth match seen Diamante use “yes” kicks on both Savannah and Zane after a dive from Hudson. After a distraction, Penelope Ford came through the crowd and hit her handspring off the ropes into a cutter on Hudson that allowed Savannah and Zane to pick up the win.

Triple Threat Match

Samantha Heights defeated Zeda Zhang & Tasha Steelz

This was an excellent triple threat bout with three talents that can certainly go in the ring. I’ve seen Heights and Zhang before, but this was my first time seeing Steelz. Steelz’ cat-like quickness showed early in this match. She hit a powerbomb on both Zhang and Heights when they were on the top rope. All three hit RKOs/cutters on each other as the fast-paced match continued. The end of the match seen Heights hit a double blockbuster on both Steelz and Zhang before she pinned Zhang for the win.

Progress Women’s Championship

Jordynne Grace(c) defeated Kris Statlander

Before the match got started, Grace announced that she would be defending the Progress Women’s title against Statlander. This was after her successful title defense against former WWE and TNA star Victoria the night before. The bout proved to be an excellent one between them. Grace hit the pounce on Statlander while the challenger later landed a moonsault, too. But in the end, Grace retained her title by hitting her Grace Driver for the win.

Show 2 Results:

Savannah Evans defeated Trish Adora

This was the opening match on the second show and it was a good one. Once again, Adora was impressive and held her own against one of the fastest rising female talents on the Indy scene. At the start of the match, Adora held on an armbar on Evans that she just couldn’t break out of. But Evans took over after throwing Adora into the ring post. The back and forth match ended with Evans rolling up Adora – with help from pulling her tights – for the win. You’ll be hearing plenty from these two if you keep up with the talent in Indy wrestling.

Sinister Sweethearts(Samantha Heights & Brittany Blake) defeated the Sea Stars

A hilarious moment took place before the match even started. The ref kept asking if both teams were ready. Then both of them, along with the fans, responded by saying “What?!” in reference to Stone Cold Steve Austin. This went on for a couple of minutes. Finally, Samantha says to the ref, “I’m ready, I’m just f’ing with you.” And they used plenty of Stone Cold’s moves in this match. The Sea Stars even used the double elbow drops and stunners on the Sinister Sweethearts. Earlier in the bout, Heights used the DTA(Don’t Trust Anyone) line and proceeded to drop one of the Sea Stars head first into the corner turnbuckle. The Sinister Sisters also used a Russian leg sweep into a Famouser-type move. They went on to win the match. Afterwards, both team celebrated. That was a fun bout with a comical setup to start it off.

Kris Statlander defeated Clara Sinclare

The Force was strong with these two from the outset. And what I mean by that is they used Jedi Powers(without touching each other) throughout the entire match. The coordination and timing they used was spot on with each move they did. At one point, Sinclare used the “force” to throw Statlander off the top rope into a moonsault. The end of the match came when Statlander hit the “Stone Cold Stunner,” using the force on Sinclare to get the win. You had to be there to see this performance because I’ve never seen a match like it anywhere. That’s also a testament to the kind of talent these two are, too.

Hudson Envy defeated Penelope Ford w/Zane Riley

This was a fun match to watch and it comes as no surprise when these two are involved. For that matter when Zane is as well since he factored into the bout on so many occasions that fans wanted him thrown out at one point. Envy attacked Zane on the floor early on when he intervened. Later, Ford nearly hit her finisher that cost her and Diamante in the first show, but Envy countered it. Ford hit a dropkick off the top rope, but that wasn’t enough for the win either. The end of the match happened when Riley was on the receiving end of a stunner that caused him to fall on Ford’s legs. With Ford unable to move due to him being out, Envy took advantage to pin the bad girl for the win. Envy got some revenge from the first show here. Another great showing by all here.

Queens of Combat Championship

Diamante(c) defeated Jordynne Grace

This was one match I most looking forward to and they sure didn’t let me down. Or anyone else either. Grace hit a Pounce on Diamante early on that got drew a big reaction from the crowd. Grace then foiled Diamante’s top rope move by pushing the referee to the ropes and causing the QOC champion to fall. A number of clubbing blows from Grace weren’t enough to win. Diamante hit a senton bomb and stunner on Grace that also drew good applause from those attendance before holding on to win the match and retain her title. Grace has another big title shot coming in Impact Wrestling. Diamante is one of the top female talents around, too.

6-Pack Challenge to earn QOC title shot at GalaxyCon in Raleigh this summer

Zeda Zhang defeated Madi Maxx, Tasha Steelz, Rocky Radley, Veda Scott, & Faye Jackson

Due to a couple of cancellations, this was announced to be a five-way match. However, Madi Maxx came out to be part of this bout to make it a 6-pack challenge like originally advertised. But obviously not before she was booed heavily every time she attempted to talk..again. This match will be remembered for each person using the Stunner on another talent. Steelz on Madi Maxx. Radley on Steelz. Jackson on Radley. Zeda on Jackson. Veda Scott on Zeda. And then Madi on Veda Scott. Each time this happened, Stone Cold’s music would hit and those that setup the ring would throw(or hand them off) cans of beer for them to drink like he would do after hitting his finisher. Later, Jackson hit a Stunner on all five after they had chin-locks on each other. After all that, the end result came when Zeda hit a quick roll-up on Madi for the win to earn a shot at the Queens of Combat title this summer at GalaxyCon. After the match, Diamante came out as she looked at the winner of the match. Zane Riley then got on the microphone and announced at the next QOC event in May that the champion would be defending her title twice, provided she wins the first bout against Shazza McKenzie. If she does, she’ll defend the belt against the woman she took the title from: Su Yung. That takes place at the same venue at Royal Blood.

Notes:

-The first talents I met were the Sea Stars during an in-ring photo opp. John Moses took the photos and he’s always been good and professional at doing so. I hadn’t met the Sea Stars before after seeing a number of their matches in QOC. I do recall Ashley asking me about why I didn’t have my jacket on since everyone else in front of me did. After the show, they had candy forced out of their mouths by Samantha Heights when she went over to their table. That was too funny. You never know what shenanigans you’ll see, especially when they are involved. They do enjoy themselves, and are talents you should see if you have not yet.

-Like the Sea Stars, I’ve seen Diamante a number of times. And this was also my first time meeting her, which happened after the first show. I was going to get a pic with her after she won the belt during WrestleCade weekend, so I made sure that happened this time around. So I got a photo with her holding the QOC title. So I told her that her match with Su Yung during WrestleCade weekend was one of the best I’ve seen. Nice lady. Before we left the building, she got a pic with Madi Maxx holding her new shirt that said, “Stop Being Poor”. Madi was all smiles while Diamante didn’t want to take a pic. I got a pic of them as well. Again, another example of what shenanigans you can see at these shows. Now knowing what we know, Diamante is scheduled to face off against Su Yung in another rematch in May(if she retains the belt beforehand), so I’d advise not missing that one!

-Another first time meeting happened when I met Jordynne Grace. When paying for the pic with her, she noticed my wallet had a lot of cards in it. That’s the first time anyone brought that up, and she said that I must’ve had mostly rewards cards in it. She’s right, and I did cut down my wallet on them last weekend after she told me that, just so you know. Anyway, I took a pic with her holding her Progress women’s title. She’s a cool lady, but I walked away laughing at her bringing up the number of rewards cards I had on me.

-Yet another first time meeting happened at the end of both shows as Clara Sinclare walked in the meet & greet area. Me and my friends raved about her match against Kris Statlander on the second show. I told her I didn’t know how I’d write about that match, but that was a compliment because I’ve seen nothing like that match anywhere. As I said earlier in the entry, the force was strong in their match and you should buy the QOC Stone Cold Queens event any way you can to see it for yourself. It was THAT creatively done, and she said to us that it was so much fun for the both of them. After talking with a few us, me and my friends took turns getting a pic with her. Quite a nice lady and there’s no way that match could be forgotten by me and those that were there to witness it.

-I got to meet Penelope Ford again after this show. I asked her for a pic and we got two different ones of her. One with a middle finger in reference to Stone Cold and then a good girl one of her after that. I vividly recall how she treated me and other fans after the QOC show during WrestleCade weekend, so that alone makes me a fan of her. She’s signed to All Elite Wrestling and is one of the best female talents around. You will NOT be disappointed with her matches if you see her on a show.

-And finally, I did meet Zeda Zhang after she just won the 6-pack challenge to earn a title shot at GalaxyCon this summer. I told her that her matches were very good on both shows. I didn’t talk to her long, but it’s easy to tell she was nice, too. The former WWE-NXT talent and model is someone you should also see at shows.

The next Queens of Combat event is on May 18th in Charlotte, NC at the same Hebron Hall with an event called Royal Blood. It’ll feature two title matches on both scheduled shows. Tickets for the show and in-ring photo ops are up on their home page now.

For those that have kids, let me be clear by saying that Queens of Combat is a R rated promotion as you can likely tell by reading this. However, QOC has long been one of my favorite promotions that continues putting on great shows, and I’m fortunate I can call a few of them that have been associated with them as my friends. They bring in good talent and people for every event. After meeting many of them, they are high quality people that treat their fans well.

It’s always good meeting up with my friends Brandon Lyles, Chris Dickinson, Bobby Mitchell, Ian Barker, Daniel Pagan, Brandon Lattimore, Chris Riddle, and finally meeting Rodney Graves for the first time in person. Until the next event, guys!

Thanks once again to QOC for putting on another entertaining event. I’m not sure when my next one will be, but I’ll be writing all my wrestling reviews on this site from now on, even though this is a travel-based site. If there are any errors here about the details of the show, do let me know. Until the next show and thanks for reading!

  1. I would not say QoC is a PG show at all. Zane constantly uses vulgar language during promos, using the c*nt word and f*ck on a regular basis. That promo that Tessa Blanchard cut a few shows back was very vulgar. It might be PG at WrestleCade because WrestleCade is PG but the regular shows definitely are not.

  2. Thanks Ian. I need to actually mention it as an R show because its common to hear vulgarity throughout the shows. I’ll edit that now. That’s why I tell adults with kids not to bring them because you never know what’ll come out of their mouths. LOL.
